ICAR-NRC on Mithun Celebrates Vigilance Awareness Week-2019

The weeklong celebration of the Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week-2019 under the Vigilance Cell of the Institute at ICAR-NRC on Mithun ended on the 2nd November, 2019. The celebration was part of the Central Vigilance Commission initiative to promote the theme of public participation in promoting integrity and eradicating corruption by inviting schools, colleges, public and private organizations to participate in various competitions such as essay writing, extempore speech and painting etc. The theme of this years’ Vigilance Week celebration was “Integrity- A Way of Life”.As part of the celebration, the Institute had organized a number of competitions viz. essay writing, extempore speech and paintingfor the school students from in and around the Institute at Medziphema and the staffs of the Institute. The participating schools students were all categorized as one group and the staffs of the Institute as a separate group.

As part of the Vigilance Week-2019, an Integrity Pledge was taken on 28th October 2019 by all the staff members. The various competitions commenced from the 28th October to 2nd November, 2019. The topic for all competitions was focussed on the theme of the Vigilance Week Celebration i.e. “Integrity-A way of life”. The topic for the essay competition was “Role of Integrity in preventing corruption”. For the painting competition students and staffs were asked to draw anything on what corruption is, how it can be prevented and its root cause. A large number school students and all staffs members of the Institute participated in the week long programme. Prizes to the winners were distributed on the valedictory programme i.e. the 2nd of November, 2019. The programme ended with taking Integrity Pledge taken by all the school children and staff members present in the valedictory function and singing of National Anthem.
