Road: The Institute is located in Medziphema block of Dist. Dimapur, Nagaland which is 25 km away from Dimapur on the National Highway 29 that connects Kohima (50 km), Imphal and the Myanmar border at Moreh. NH 29 starts from Dimapur connecting Doboka and later Guwahati via NH 27. The road distance between Guwahati and Dimapur is 308Km (via Doboka, NH27/ NH29) and 385 Km (via Numaligarh, NH 29)

Rail: Dimapur (DMV) rail station, on Lumding-Dibrugarh section of Northeast Frontier Railway, is well connected to major cities of India and there are direct train services to cities like Guwahati (250 km), Dibrugarh (256 km), Kolkata (1270 km), New Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Amritsar, and Chennai. Besides, several Mail/Express trains, 12067/ 12068 Jan Shatabdi Express, 12085/ 12086 Shatabdi Express and two (12236/12235, 12424/12423) Rajdhani Express regularly ply between Guwahati and Dimapur.

Air: Dimapur is also connected to major cities of India via Kolkata by Indigo (6E377/ 6E417) and Air India (AI 709/AI 710, does not ply on Saturday) flight. Dimapur Airport (DMU) is located 19 km from the Institute and 6 km from the Dimapur city.

Weather condition in Medziphema

Medziphema, spreads over a very wide beautiful landscape and its altitude is about 360 m above the sea level. It is neither a hill nor a valley and actually represents an interface of the Hilly Nagaland and the valleys as the actual hill region more or less start after this area as we move up towards Kohima. During the month of December the day temperature may go up to 25 ℃ and night temperature may fall up to 10 ℃

Tourist attractions

Nagaland, popularly known as "Land of festivals", is a mountainous state in North-east India, bordering Myanmar. It's home to diverse indigenous tribes, with festivals and markets celebrating the different tribes' culture. Its capital city of Kohima, which is 75 km away from Dimapur, is one of the major tourist attractions. The places of interests are the Kohima War Cemetery, Nagaland State Museum, Kisama Heritage village, Khonoma village, Japfu Peak, and Dzukou Valley. In Dimapur, the major tourist attractions are Kachari ruins, Ranagpahar Reserve Forest and shopping centres. Other places of interest in Nagaland are Saramati Peak, Tuensang; Doyang River, Wokha; The intellectual capital of Nagaland, Mokukchung; Land of Konyak, Mon. The renowned Kaziranga National Park is 136 km away from Dimapur.
